Winter is over, and it has been a busy one. In the vineyard, the task has been to prune the vines.  With 5000 vines, and each vine requiring about 20 pruning cuts, that is a lot of snipping.  We finished on the 3rd of September, and the vines are ready for spring. At an average temperature of 10C, they start to think about budding. As there is still a good chance of frost, we hope the hot weather will stay away for a while.

In the winery, we have been finishing and bottling our 2008 reds, some of our 2010 whites and putting the 2010 reds into oak barriques.  The whites should be released within the next two months.

2008 Merlot Malbec: A full bodied blend of two traditional Bordeaux grapes. It has plum fruit aromas with clove and cigar accents and rich complex tannins.

Our 2010 Sauvignon Blanc is now available.  Picked early, with only 11% alcohol, it is dry, light and refreshing.  It has a  delicate aroma of pears  and kiwi fruit with a lime finish on the palate, making it an ideal accopmpaniment to seafood. Our introductory newsletter price is $18 per bottle. (normally $25), or $16 per bottle if you buy it as part of a dozen order.
